When: 10:00 PM ET, Saturday, October 20, 2018
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada

Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf is expected back in the lineup when the Ducks visit the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Getzlaf has missed the last five games with a groin injury - one of several Anaheim forwards who have missed time this season - and his return will add depth to the center position as Ryan Kesler appears fully recovered from hip surgery two offseasons ago.

Kesler, who missed the first three games of the season, scored twice in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders and has three goals and an assist in four contests. “He has the attitude that he’s not going to be denied and that’s a great personal attitude that he takes toward it,” coach Randy Carlyle told reporters about Kesler. “If somebody says you can’t, he’s going to show you he can.” Vegas is recovering from a 1-4-0 start by winning its last two games, including a 4-1 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday that kicked off a five-game homestand as it scored more than two goals for the first time this season. "We played a real good, solid hockey game,'' Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant told reporters. "I thought we were the better team most of the night and worked hard. I seen a lot of things we're going to have to do the rest of the year. Really happy with the performance.''

TV: 10 p.m. ET, Prime Ticket (Anaheim), AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain (Vegas)

ABOUT THE DUCKS (5-1-1): Anaheim is off to its best start since 2014-15 despite the absence of Corey Perry (knee), Ondrej Kase (concussion), Jakob Silfverberg (finger) and Patrick Eaves (shoulder). Rookie left wing Max Comtois is among the young players who have seized the opportunity to play as the 19-year-old has two goals and four assists in his first seven NHL games and boasts an assist in each of his last three games. But the star of the show has been John Gibson (4-1-1, 1.89 goals-against average, .948), who has faced an NHL-most 213 shots entering Friday's games.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS (3-4-0): Marc-Andre Fleury (3-3-0, 2.71, .896) won his 407th game Thursday, tying Glenn Hall for 10th all-time. "I feel really honored to be among these guys (in the top 10)," Fleury, who has stopped 52 of 53 shots over the last two contests, told reporters. "I just try to do my part, try to do my job stopping the puck." Jonathan Marchessault (team highs of four goals, eight points and plus-6) scored twice Tuesday while defenseman Deryk Engelland (minus-4) could return after leaving last Saturday's game and missing Tuesday's contest with an upper-body injury.

1. The Ducks on Wednesday signed holdout LW Nick Ritchie to a three-year contract worth a reported $1.533 million per. Ritchie, 22, recorded 24 goals, 55 points and 134 penalty minutes combined in the last two seasons.

2. Vegas is 1-for-19 on the power play this season while Anaheim is 18-for-22 on the penalty kill.

3. The Golden Knights won three of four meetings last season although the Ducks prevailed 2-0 in Las Vegas on Feb. 19 in the last encounter.

PREDICTION: Golden Knights 3, Ducks 2
