After being shut out in the rain last weekend in Athens, Ga., Kentucky steamrolled Missouri 29-7 on a similarly dreary Saturday night at Kroger Field.

Playing in a steady downpour throughout much of the game, Kentucky jumped out to a 22-0 halftime lead and never looked back. The Wildcats ranked No. 13 out of 14 SEC teams in scoring at 20 points per game before posting 29 in the win.

Kentucky improves to 4-4, 2-4 in the SEC. Missouri, which has lost two straight and all three road games this season, falls to 5-3, 2-2.

Lynn Bowden, the wide receiver forced into quarterback duties three weeks ago after injuries to Terry Wilson and Sawyer Smith, led the victory. He rushed 21 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns and completed three of seven passes for 54 yards.

As a team, Kentucky rolled up 360 yards total offense with 297 coming via the rushing attack. AJ Rose rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown and Kavosiey Smoke ran for eight yards and another score.

Kentucky's rapidly improving defense limited Missouri to a season-low seven points. The previous low was 14 in the loss at Vanderbilt last weekend.

Kelly Bryant, the Clemson transfer, completed 10-of-19 passes for 130 yards and the Tigers' only touchdown. Tyler Badie had a 74-yard catch and run for a Missouri touchdown at the 12:40 mark in the third quarter.

Kentucky stifled any comeback attempt with its own touchdown on a 33-yard run by Bowden with 11:25 left in the contest.

Larry Rountree III was Missouri's top rusher with 58 yards.

Because of the rain, the game was plagued by turnovers. Missouri fumbled five times, losing two. UK also had four sacks. Kentucky fumbled twice and lost both.
